Nemesis has caught up with a man and a woman who attempted to smuggle substances suspected to be Indian hemp hidden inside fresh tomatoes into a prison in Ondo State.
The Nigerian Custodian Centre, Ondo State Command, announced the development in a statement on Wednesday, January 14, saying the man and the woman were found with the items when they visited their relation in the Medium Security Prison, Akure, the state capital.
The command gave their names as Isaac Nimjul, aged 37 years, from Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State and Jennifer Yaro, aged 39, from Langtang North Local Government Area of the same state.

They were discovered during a routine search at the gate lodge, where officers uncovered about four grammes of Indian hemp concealed in fresh tomatoes carefully wrapped in water-tight nylon with the intention of delivering it to an inmate.
After they were apprehended, the man and the woman were handed over to the operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation and prosecution.
