A female citizen of Chad who has been hiding in Nigeria since May this year after she committed murder in the country has been arrested and repatriated back to Chad.

The Nigeria Police Force, through operatives of the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB), Abuja, arrested and repatriated the Chadian, Mahadijiria Abdoulaye, who was declared wanted by authorities in N’Djamena, the country’s capital, in connection with the murder of Nazik Mahamat Saleh, who was tortured and killed on May 3, 2026.

It was gathered that after she committed the murder and fled to Nigeria, an international warrant of arrest was issued by the Court of Appeal, N’Djamena, on June 22 for her and her accomplice, Fatime Senoussi Mouktar, in connection with the case.

According to the Nigeria Polce Force in a statement on Saturday, August 15, Abdoulaye, who is also linked to narcotics trafficking activities in Chad, fled to Nigeria following the incident.

She was subsequently traced and arrested by operatives of INTERPOL NCB Abuja on August 5 at Railway Quarters, Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State, following coordinated intelligence operations.

On August 14, she wa repatriated to N’Djamena, through Lomé, Togo, under established bilateral police cooperation arrangements.

The operation was conducted by INTERPOL NCB Abuja in collaboration with INTERPOL NCB N’Djamena and she is expected to face justice in the coming weeks.
