Popular Nollywood actor, Adewale Adeoye, popularly known as Elesho, who was seen recently with a growth on the right side of his head has undergone a successful surgery and the growth has been removed.
Many Nigerians on social media expressed concern when they saw the albino actor during the burial rites of his colleague, Taiwo Hassan alias Ogogo, with the growth shooting out of the right side of the head.
This made many of them to appeal to Elesho to undergo medical check-up as quickly as possible as they said they suspected the growth could be a tumour.
However, it has now been confirmed that the actor has undergone surgery at an undisclosed hospital in Lagos State and the growth had been successfully removed.
The Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP) disclosed in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Oluwafemi Adejonwo, that the surgery was successful and the actor is in a stable condition and recuperating in the hospital.
The association said: “We give all glory to God for the successful completion of his operation.
“In recent days, there have been several posts on social media concerning the health of our dear brother, Prince Adewale Adeoye Elesho, the immediate past President of the Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners, with many speculations including skin cancer.
“We hereby confirm that the operation was successful. He is stable and recuperating well.
“We sincerely appreciate everyone who called, prayed and showed concern. Your love and support are deeply valued.”
