National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ajibola Bashiru, on Sunday, August 30, held talks with the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, regarding delivering the state for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
It will be recalled that during the August 15 governorship election held in the state, Adeleke of the Accord Party defeated the candidate of the APC, Bola Oyebamiji and others. Just on Saturday, Oyebamiji congratulated Adeleke on his reelection.
The APC National Secretary arrived at the Government House, Osogbo, around noon and held the meeting with the governor for about one hour.
He said he came to thank the governor for visiting him during the burial of his mother and also for his success during the election.
A competent source at the meeting told Impact Nigeria News Online on Sunday afternoon that the meeting however centred basically on how to deliver the state for the president as earlier promised by Adeleke.
The source quoted Bashiru as saying: “I came on a congratulatory visit to Governor Ademola Adeleke on his victory at the polls, and to specially appreciate him for his visit during the burial of my late mother, as well as to discuss how to deliver Osun for the president during the 2027 presidential election, as promised by Governor Adeleke.”
The source said Adeleke assured the APC National Secretary that he is a man of his words while also promising that delivering the state for APC in 2027 is a done deal.
