Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, is set to formally unveil a 52-member re-election campaign team, comprising a professor and a senator.

This is even as the governor appointed his nephew and Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, as the head, youth mobilisation of his campaign council.

According to a post on the state’s X account on Tuesday, the campaign structure, known as the Imole Campaign Council 2026, will be inaugurated on Wednesday, April 22, ahead of Adeleke’s re-election bid in the August 15, 2026, governorship election in the state.

The post noted that the campaign council is expected to serve as the central coordinating body for the governor’s political strategy, mobilisation efforts, and electioneering activities across the state.

The 52-member team is expected to comprise politicians, technocrats, party leaders, and grassroots mobilisers drawn from across the state.

Among those named in the campaign council is the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council of Osun State University, Professor Wale Ladipo, who will serve as Chairman of the campaign council.

The Senate Minority Leader, Senator Kamorudeen Lere Oyewumi, has been appointed Director General, while the Osun State Commissioner for Information, Barrister Kolapo Alimi, will serve as Deputy Director General. Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi is expected to act as spokesperson, and Hon. Prince Bola Ajao will serve as Secretary.

Other key roles include Rep. Bamidele Salam, who will head the Media and Publicity Committee; and former Secretary to the Osun State Government, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, who will oversee Inter-Party Relations, along with several standing committees.

The campaign structure also extends beyond the central council, with the establishment of federal constituency, local government, and ward campaign committees across the state.

At the federal constituency level, the Imole Federal Constituency Campaign Committees will be formed in all nine constituencies, bringing together lawmakers, party executives, commissioners, and other stakeholders.

Similarly, local government campaign committees will operate across all 30 local government areas and the area office, while ward campaign committees will be established in all 332 wards in the state to deepen grassroots engagement.

Meanwhile, Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has been appointed as the Head of Youth Mobilisation for the re-election campaign of Governor Adeleke ahead of the 2026 governorship race.

Davido disclosed this in a post on X on Tuesday, expressing optimism about a smooth campaign and re-election of his uncle as the state’s governor.

He wrote, “I have been appointed by the Governor of OSUN STATE @AAdeleke_01 and flag bearer of the ACCORD PARTY as HEAD YOUTH MOBILIZATION OF CAMPAIGN COUNCIL!

“We look forward to a smooth campaign and you RE-ELECTION Your Excellency! 4+4.”

Davido has publicly supported his uncle’s political activities over the years and has been involved in Osun State’s politics, including being appointed as the Chairman of the Osun Sports Trust Fund, a role designed to attract investment into sports development in the state.

In December 2025, the singer announced his decision to formally join the Accord Party, two weeks after his uncle, Governor Adeleke, officially defected to the party from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
