AfriGO cards are now available on the PalmPay platform, enabling Nigerians to request the national domestic card directly through the PalmPay mobile application, in a move expected to widen access to card-based payment services across the country.
The integration, according to a statement, allows users to request AfriGO cards via a platform already embedded in everyday financial activity, including payments, transfers and other digital services. By making the card request process available within the PalmPay app, access to AfriGO is expanded across both digital and physical touch points, lowering entry barriers and simplifying adoption for millions of users.
AfriGO cards are designed to operate seamlessly across Nigeria’s payments ecosystem, with nationwide acceptance on Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), Point of Sale (POS) terminals and online platforms. PalmPay users can request an AfriGO card by logging into the app, while customers who prefer in-person assistance can visit PalmPay’s customer experience centres or engage with any of the company’s over 500,000 agents nationwide for guidance and support.
Commenting on the integration, the Managing Director of AfriGO, Ebehijie Momoh, said the partnership reflects a long-term vision for a payments system tailored to Nigeria’s realities. “AfriGO represents our long-term vision for a payments ecosystem that is designed around Nigeria’s needs and realities. By making AfriGO cards available on the PalmPay app, we are removing barriers to access and ensuring that more Nigerians can participate fully in the digital economy,” he said.
Also speaking, the Managing Director of PalmPay, Chika Nwosu, noted that access to dependable card services remains a challenge for many Nigerians. “Many Nigerians still face challenges accessing reliable card service. By enabling AfriGO card requests directly on the PalmPay app, we’re making banking smarter and more accessible, while giving users the confidence to pay seamlessly across Nigeria’s payment ecosystem,” he said.
The availability of AfriGO cards on PalmPay reinforces AfriGO’s commitment to expanding its distribution through trusted digital platforms, while strengthening the adoption of a payment solution designed specifically for Nigeria’s economic environment.
