The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to confront Nigeria’s security challenges with decisive action, calling for the eradication of terrorism and its sponsors within 90 days.

Speaking during the November Holy Ghost Service at the Redemption City of God along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, Pastor Adeboye advised the President to respond with wisdom and diplomacy to the alleged threat of action reportedly issued by U.S. President Donald Trump against Nigeria. He urged Tinubu to open diplomatic channels with Trump and seek a 100-day moratorium on any aggressive moves, stressing that such a window would allow Nigeria to address its internal security issues and demonstrate its capacity for self-governance.

Adeboye said the government must take full responsibility for restoring peace across the country, emphasizing that the service chiefs should be given a clear directive to eliminate terrorists and their financiers within three months, regardless of their political or social influence. Failure to achieve this target, he added, should prompt the President to resign as a demonstration of accountability and integrity.

Lamenting the persistent insecurity that has claimed thousands of lives, Adeboye recalled a time when Nigeria was a peaceful nation before, as he put it, “some political crooks introduced religious radicalism into our politics.” He noted that the current situation has eroded national unity, displaced communities, and instilled fear in ordinary citizens.

The respected cleric clarified that his remarks were not politically motivated but driven by a deep concern for the nation’s stability. “True leadership,” he said, “requires courage, fairness, and the fear of God.” Adeboye called on President Tinubu to act with determination and moral conviction, adding that the government’s ability to restore peace and justice would determine Nigeria’s survival and international standing.
