The All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State have headed for the tribunal to challenge the victory of Governor Ademola Adeleke during the August 15 governorship election in the state.
The petitions written by the parties to challenge the victory were on Monday, September 7, pasted on the notice board of the Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Osogbo, the state capital.
Tribunal secretary, Pefe Belemore, had earlier on Monday said the notices would be displayed before noon.
The APC petition, marked EPT/OS/GOV/01/2026, was filed by its candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, against Adeleke, the Accord Party and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The PDP petition, marked EPT/OS/GOV/02/2026, was filed by Adebayo Olugbenga Adedamola against Adeleke, INEC and Accord.
Display of the petitions is a procedural step. All the parties must still be served before full hearing begins.
