Former US President, Barack Obama, on Thursday, December 18, named his favourite songs for 2025, and among them were songs by Nigeria’s Burna Boy and Olamide.
Obama disclosed this on his verified X handle, saying compiling his favourite songs, books and movies was a tradition that he started when he was the country’s president.
He named 11 books as well as 11 movies as his favourite in 2025, while also naming 30 songs from across the world, with two songs by Nigerians making the list.
Third on the list of his favourite songs was Tatata by Burna Boy featuring Travis Scott while seventh on the list was 99 by Olamide featuring Deacon, Seyi Vibes, Asake and Young Jonn.
Obama wrote: “As 2025 comes to a close, I’m continuing a tradition that I started during my time in the White House: sharing my annual lists of favourite books, movies, and music. I hope you find something new to enjoy—and please send any recommendations for me to check out.”
Obama was the 44th president of the United States and led the country from 2009 to 2017 under the Democratic Party.
