Authorities of the Bayero University, Kano, have asked postgraduate students who are unable to graduate within the stipulated duration of their programmes to write what they described as “letter of amnesty.”
The university announced this in a statement posted on its social media platforms on Thursday night, as it added that students pursuing Ph.D and ‘academic masters’ should write the formal letter in order to be considered for the ‘amnesty.’
The university said such a formal letter should be addressed to the Provost, College of Postgraduate Studies, and routed through their various Heads of Department for consideration.
It also told them to disregard the earlier notice which requested students to write to the Vice-Chancellor, as the instruction given earlier had been revised.
“All concerned students are advised to comply accordingly. Please also share this notice to all groups where the previous notice was shared,” the university added.
