A female motorist lost her life on Sunday, August 2, when she lost control of her Toyota Sienna Space bus she was driving on a highway in Lagos State.
The accident occurred on Sunday afternoon at Mangoro, inward Ile-Zik, along the Lagos-Abeokuta highway, one of the busiest road corridors in the state.
It was gathered that the woman lost control of the vehicle which veered off the carriageway and crashed into a roadside building. This resulted into her instant death and she was the only occupant of the vehicle.
The accident caused gridlock on the highway, but the timely arrival of officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and other security agencies restored orderly traffic situation within the shortest possible time.
According to LASTMA in a statement on the accident, security operatives from the Afonka Police Post, under the Shasha Divisional Headquarters, provided essential security reinforcement throughout the emergency response and remained on ground until the successful conclusion of the evacuation exercise.
The remains of the woman were moved to the nearest mortuary while the vehicle was taken to the police station for documentation and investigation into the tragedy.
