The Federal Ministry of Finance on Monday, June 23, 2025, held its Citizens and Stakeholders Engagement Session in Abuja, reaffirming the Tinubu administration’s commitment to investment-led economic growth, transparency, and accountability.
Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, declared that Nigeria had entered the third phase of its reform agenda, focused on job creation, poverty reduction, and macroeconomic stability.
“Our trajectory is clear: from macroeconomic correction to national transformation,” Edun stated. He cited key gains including a rebound in external reserves from under $4 billion to over $23 billion, forex market stability, and increased investor confidence, as evidenced by credit rating upgrades and new investments in energy and manufacturing.
Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, emphasized inclusive governance, urging stakeholders to see the forum as a tool for accountability. “We are fully committed to ensuring that policy implementation translates to broad-based economic development,” she said.
Permanent Secretary Raymond Omenka Omachi underscored inter-ministerial coordination as central to ensuring policy reforms are effectively executed.
The session brought together key representatives from the private sector, civil society, and international development partners, sparking robust discussions on sustaining momentum for reforms.
With renewed focus on fiscal innovation, policy continuity, and stakeholder collaboration, the engagement session signalled strong federal resolve to move Nigeria’s economy from recovery to resilience.
