Four criminals who invaded a corpers’ lodge situated inside a specialist hospital in Adamawa State and robbed 36 corps members of valuables have been arrested by men of the state police command.
The four criminals, whose names were given as Elkana Ishaya, aged 17 years; Mubarak Abubakar, aged 22 years; Musa Umar, aged 30 years and Kabiru Tanko, aged 20 years, were said to have carried out the robbery at the Corpers’ Lodge inside Specialist Hospital, Yola, the state capital.
The incident occurred on June 27 when the robbers, armed with various weapons, invaded the lodge late at night and robbed 36 corps members of their valuables, including mobile phones.
Upon receipt of the robbery report from the victims, police operatives attached to Karewa Area Command commenced investigation, which led to the arrest of the four suspects and recovery of some mobile phones stolen from the victims.
According to the state police command in a statement on Friday, July 3, investigation is ongoing to recover more stolen phones and arrest other members of the gang still at large.
The arrested criminals have given more useful information to the police about the robbery and they have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and they will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.
