Manchester United and England national team defender, Harry Maguire, has expressed anger over his exclusion from the England’s national team to this year’s World Cup.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup would be held from June 11 to July 19 and would be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Maguire has been omitted from Thomas Tuchel’s squad which is set to be unveiled on Friday at Wembley Stadium.
The Manchester United central defender has won 66 international caps and been a mainstay of England’s back line at recent tournaments, but has barely featured since missing out on the last European Championship due to injury.
Maguire expressed his anger in a post on his social media handles on Thursday.
“I was confident I could have played a major part this summer for my country after the season I’ve had. I’ve been left shocked and gutted by the decision.
“I’ve loved nothing more than putting that shirt on and representing my country over the years.
“I wish the players, all the best this summer.”
England is in Group L and will play against Croatia, Ghana and Panama during the first round of the global competition.
