The speculation began after Lecturas published photos of the pair vacationing on Italy’s Pantelleria island, prompting backlash over the 13-year age gap.
Barcelona’s 17-year-old football star Lamine Yamal has firmly denied rumours of a romantic relationship with 30-year-old influencer Fati Vázquez, calling the claims “completely false.”
The speculation began after Lecturas published photos of the pair vacationing on Italy’s Pantelleria island, prompting backlash over the 13-year age gap. However, Yamal, speaking through journalist Javi de Hoyos, clarified there was “nothing going on.” He later posted on Instagram with Neymar, captioned: “Single and happy, this is Brazil!”
Club sources confirmed the Italy trip was a group holiday with teammates, not a private getaway. Vázquez, linked to another Barcelona player, denied wrongdoing, saying on RTVE Play: “We are two people who just wanted to have a good time, and that’s it.” She condemned online abuse and is documenting threats received.
This incident follows previous false claims involving adult content creator Claudia Bavel, which Yamal dismissed, stating: “My mother doesn’t allow any woman into the house.”
As the teenager enjoys his summer break in Brazil, the saga highlights the invasive scrutiny young athletes face. While the rumours appear baseless, the episode raises concerns over digital harassment and media responsibility surrounding minors in the spotlight.
