Authorities in Libya have transferred 18 undocumented migrants of Nigerian nationality from the Sirte Immigration Detention Centre (IDC) to Sabha overland, as part of ongoing repatriation procedures.
The Directorate for Combating Illegal Migration (DCIM) confirmed that the group was moved under escort and will be processed ahead of their return to Nigeria.
The development comes amid intensified efforts by Libyan authorities to manage irregular migration flows, with Nigerians making up a significant proportion of those detained for entering or staying in the country without proper documentation.
