A man who wore a military camouflage has been arrested by men of the Kano State Police Command while he was on his way to deliver some quantities of bullets, magazine as well as other items to bandits in the forest.
The man, Mohammed Isah Haruna, aged 28 years, was arrested last Saturday by the operatives of the Bichi Divisional Headquarters of the command around 6:00 p.m.
His arrest followed information from a good Samaritan who said he saw a person wearing a military camouflage at Rimaye Village, Bichi Local Government Area and was moving in a suspicious manner.
It was gathered that when the operatives got to the community, they saw him moving around and when a search was carried out on him, various items were said to have been found inside a bag he was carrying.
Among those items were one AK-47 magazine loaded with 30 rounds of live bullets, 79 rounds of AK-47 live bullets, two sets of suspected military uniforms, three military caps, one fake military identity card, one pair of desert boots, among others.
During his interrogation after his arrest, he was said to have confessed being in the area for the purpose of onward delivery and supply of the recovered items to bandits operating in the surrounding forest.
He is is currently in custody at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) while more investigations had commenced to apprehend other suspects and dismantle the criminal networks.
