A man who was dragged into the bush by men of the Enugu State Police Command and extorted of the sum of N150,000 has got his money back following the intervention of the police authorities in the state.
The man, whose X handle is @AmmehW, disclosed in his post that he was on a road in Enugu city three days ago when policemen from the command stopped the commercial vehicle he was in, asked him to come out and ordered the driver of the vehicle to proceed with the journey.
He added that the officers dragged him into the nearby bush, ordered him to open the bank apps in his phone. On seeing the money in one of the apps, they transferred N150,000 from it before he was asked to leave.
However, following the alarm raised by him on the social media, the state police command asked him to come to the command headquarters to provide details of his ordeal which he did.
Therefore, on Tuesday, the man disclosed that those who extorted him were identified and he was given back the N150,000.
He wrote: “Hello everyone. I’d like to thank the police for the prompt response towards this case. Special thanks to the Commander MOPOL in Enugu who investigated this case, thank you sir and special thanks to the Nigeria Police Force Complaint Response Unit (CRU) for the platform. God bless. Thank you for the refund.”
He also posted the transaction receipt of the refunded money.
