A man on Sunday, October 19, wrote the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, over the dilapidated condition of various secondary schools in the state, citing a case where woods from the roof fell on student inside classroom, causing him to sustain head injury.
The man, whose X handle is Oba of PH, gave the narration while calling the attention of the governor to the situation of some secondary schools in Etche and Omuma Local Government Areas of the state, saying the boy got injured in the classroom.
According to him, during a class session in the school, Okoroagu Community Secondary School, Okoroagu, Etche, a wood from the roof fell on him and he sustained a head injury, while other classmates escaped by the whiskers.
He wrote: “This is the condition in which the students learn every day. This is the condition of most of the primary and secondary schools in Etche and Omuma LGAs.
“We, the good people of Etche and Omuma Local Government Areas would be very grateful for your timely intervention, as education is key to enhancing community development.”
He also posted the photographs of the condition of a classroom in the school and the injured student.
