A motorist was rushed to a hospital after sustaining injury when the driver of a Micra taxi cab driving against traffic, in what is commonly known as one way, crashed into his car that was on the right way at a road in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The accident occurred around 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, at Onipepeye/Greenspring area along the Old Ife Road when the driver decided to take the one way as a result of a traffic bottleneck on the stretch of his own way, and collided with a Toyota car.
The impact of the collision caused serious damage to both cars while the driver of the Toyota sustained injury and was taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
Men of the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA) as well as policemen were drafted to the scene and after a few minutes of the assessment of the accident, the Micra was towed to the OYRTMA Headquarters.
Many residents of Ibadan have always been complaining about the recklessness of Micra taxi cab drivers who deliberately violate all rules guiding driving, especially on major highways.
Their recklessness along the roads had led to many major accidents, causing the death of passengers.
