A woman at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, on Friday, May 8, told a customary court that she was no longer interested in her marriage because she found out that her husband was having affairs with at least 10 women.
The wife, Roselyn Oche, dragged her husband, Attah Oche, before the Customary Court sitting in Garki, accusing him of being an ‘unrepentant philanderer.’
In the divorce suit against the husband, the wife said she was tired of the man’s escapades, saying the court should grant her request for divorce.
She said: “My husband has extramarital affairs with at least ten women during the pendency of our marriage and I cannot reasonably be expected to continue living with him.”
She told the court that as a result of the distraction, her husband has neglected his responsibilities towards her and their children .
She also told the court that her husband was putting her through extreme emotional manipulation.
She begged the court to grant her prayers for divorce, grant her custody of the children and order her husband to be responsible for the upkeep of the children.
Responding, the husband, who is a civil servant, told the court that all the allegations raised by his wife were aimed at not only to tarnish his image, but also a plan by her to leave the matrimonial home at all cost.
The customary court judge, Mr Festus Enomhonse, after hearing both of them, adjourned the case till Monday, May 11, for further hearing.
