The National Assembly workers, under the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria on Monday swipe into action as regard the commencement of a four day warning strike.

According to report, the workers were gathered around 6:30am on Monday to close all entrances that lead to the national Assembly complex.

The union protest is however being enforced two days before President Buhari’s expected address at a joint sitting of the lawmakers to present Nigeria’s 2019 budget.

Also, report has it that the power supply to the complex had been cut off and the supply of water stopped by the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN).

But the supply to the Account Section of the building was left untouched and the workers were allowed to do their work of getting the next salary for the workers ready.

However, the spokesman of the House, Abdulrasaq Namdas is being optimistic that the staff will be convinced by the National Assembly leadership to bring to end the warning strike today, but the workers are unshaken about their action insisting that only payment can curb the strike.

It will be noted that about two weeks ago a similar action like this one was staged and it prevented the lawmakers entering to the chamber.
