The founder of Prophetic Victory Voice of Fire Ministry International Church, Apostle Amos Isah, has been remanded in custody by the Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Gwarimpa, Abuja, pending submission of his earlier bail records.
Justice Modupe Osho-Adebiyi issued the remand order on Thursday as the cleric’s trial resumed. The court directed that the 39-year-old pastor be held at its discretion until the requested documents are produced.
Isah pleaded not guilty to an eight-count charge bordering on rape, sexual exploitation, and other offenses involving a 14-year-old girl. The alleged incidents occurred on or about May 26, 2025, at the church’s office in Gwagwalada, Abuja.
According to the charge sheet, Count One alleges that Isah lured the minor, identified as B.Z.J., into his office and “forcefully had sexual intercourse with her without her consent,” an offense contrary to Section 31(1) of the Child’s Rights Act, 2003, and punishable under Section 31(2) of the same law.
Count Two accuses the defendant of sexual exploitation of the minor under Section 32(2) of the Child’s Rights Act. Count Three alleges coercion into acts detrimental to the victim’s physical and psychological wellbeing, punishable under Section 3 of the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act, 2015.
Further counts include willfully placing the minor in fear of physical injury, contrary to Section 4 of the VAPP Act; emotional, verbal and psychological abuse under Section 14(2) of the VAPP Act; and gross indecency without consent, an offense under Section 285 of the Penal Code Laws.
Count Seven cites exploitation prejudicial to the welfare of the minor under Section 33(2) of the Child’s Rights Act, while Count Eight alleges abduction of a minor for sexual acts, punishable under Section 273 of the Penal Code Laws.
All eight counts state that the defendant, described as residing “Behind Federal Road Safety, Gwagwalada, Abuja,” committed the alleged acts within the jurisdiction of the court.
The prosecution maintains that the alleged offenses violate provisions of the Child’s Rights Act, 2003, the VAPP Act, 2015, and the Penal Code.
Justice Osho-Adebiyi adjourned the matter until June 30, 2026, for further hearing. The defendant remains in custody pending the court’s review of his bail records.
