The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), at its ongoing national convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, announced the expulsion of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike; former Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayo Fayose, embattled Secretary of the party, Sam Anyanwu, and eight others for what it said was their involvement in anti-party activities.
Others expelled by the party are Honourable Umar Bature, Adeyemi Ajibade, Mohammed Abdulrahman, Senator Mao Ohuanbunwa, Austine Nwachukwu, Abraham Amah, George Turner and Chief Dan Orbih.
The former Deputy National Chairman of the party, Chief Bode George, had earlier in his speech, moved the motion for the expulsion of the party leaders as he said their activities, including taking the party to courts, amounted to lack of discipline in following the rules and regulations of the party.
After Chief George moved the motion for their expulsion and was seconded by another party chieftain, the motion was put to voice vote and it received a massive aye and no one opposed.
Following this, the party unanimously approved the expulsion of the leaders of the party.
