Effurun, Delta State – The Delta State Police Command has reportedly arrested two individuals linked to the fatal shooting of 28-year-old Oghenemine Ogidi, also known as Mine, who was killed by ASP Nuhu Usman. The arrests came amid ongoing investigations into the movement of a Beretta pistol and four rounds of ammunition that were used in the incident.
According to sources, the suspects were brought to the Effurun Area Command on Wednesday night. Investigators are working to identify and apprehend all individuals connected with the gun’s transfer and Mine’s death.
One source revealed that one of the suspects is the sender of the firearm, which was transported from Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, to Effurun. Mine allegedly collected the weapon in Effurun with the intention of delivering it to a buyer at the Sapele Motor Park, where he was intercepted and killed by ASP Nuhu Usman and his associates.
Details about the second suspect remain unclear. The source suggested that the individual could be the driver who transported the parcel from Yenagoa, though this has yet to be confirmed. Investigations are ongoing to trace the full chain of individuals involved.
