The Imo State Commissioner of Police, Mr Aboki Danjuma, has ordered a full investigation after a video went viral where some officers of the command were seen wearing outfits that showed they belong to a cult group known as Vikings.
A user of the X platform that always reports against activities of cult groups, Naija Confra, displayed the video where about eight officers from the command were seen at a public place donning caps of Vikings and making gestures the deadly cult group is known for.
In the video, the officers were seen on the street making gestures, while two of them shot into the air and the others hailed their actions.
The Naija Confra wrote: “These are police officers in Owerri, Imo State, openly disgracing the Nigerian Police Force by engaging in cult activities. They are boldly wearing Vikings (DNKI) berets and caps — an evil cult group responsible for countless deaths across Nigeria and beyond.
“These same officers are the ones often used to kill rivals during cult clashes. How can such officers arrest a Vikings cultist when they are members themselves? This is why we always oppose cultism within security agencies. It is also why we reject cult-sponsored charity donations to the security agencies.”
