Former President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday, May 7, hinted on the 2027 presidential election, saying though the race is not a computer game, he will consult widely on the matter.
Jonathan said this when some youth organisations visited him at his Abuja office. The youths said they were in the office to urge him to join the presidential race.
Jonathan said: “You ask me to come and contest the next election. The presidential race is not a computer game, but I have heard you, and I will consult widely.
“But the most important thing as Nigerians is for the young people to take part in the voting process. If I ask those of you here how many have voters cards, I’m not sure more than 50 per cent of you do.
“First and foremost, let me welcome you to my office and thank you for showing interest in your country. If you have no interest in your country, you will not bother to be here.
“We will continue to advocate peaceful elections in the country. If we don’t have peaceful elections, most people will not want to bother to get involved in politics. Peaceful elections are very dear to us.”
