Some suspected armed robbers were said to have fled and abandoned two Ghana-must-go bags containing 75 phones of various brands as well as five laptops suspected to have been stolen.
The Lagos State Police Command announced the development on its X handle on Saturday morning, saying men of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the command discovered the items in the Ikeja area of the state during their routine patrol.
According to the command, two robbers abandoned the two bags when they sighted the operatives near Allen Roundabout, Ikeja, around 5:30 a.m. last Sunday and fled in different directions.
When the operatives checked the contents of the bags, they found 32 iPhones, 38 other smartphones, including Samsung, Redmi, Tecno, among others, as well as five damaged phones and five laptops stolen from different areas in Ikeja and its environs.
The command wrote: “Speaking on the recovery, the Commander of the Rapid Response Squad, CSP Shola Jejeloye, stated that preliminary investigations revealed that the items were stolen property hurriedly abandoned by the suspects.
“He urged members of the public who may have lost similar devices to visit the RRS Headquarters, Alausa, with verifiable proof of ownership for proper identification and reclaim.”
