The Public Relations Officer of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, on Saturday, October 18, gave details of how a couple she did not name visited her in her office and brought a complaint regarding domestic issue.
She disclosed this on her X handle, saying during a conversation in her office, the husband stated that his wife should not have any friends apart from him, and that the woman should not pay anyone visit, no chats on social media platforms and no outings.
She said what the man said made her to reflect deeply, wondering why some men feel uncomfortable when their partners maintain friendships.
She wrote: :”Yesterday, (Friday) a man and his wife visited my office with a complaint, and after listening to both parties, the conversation left me reflecting deeply.
“The man firmly stated that his wife should not have any friends apart from him. No visits, no chats, no outings. “It raises an important question: why do some men feel uncomfortable when their partners maintain friendships? Could it be insecurity, fear of external influence, or simply a lack of trust?”
One of her followers reacted to the post and said only an insecure husband would go to this extent with his wife.
The follower, @Faiz_WIN, wrote: “Only a narcissist that wants to control and conquer will come up with such demands. Such should be a red flag for anyone. Most women that have agreed to such demands didn’t live to tell the story.”
