Three ladies who were said to be involved in sale of various types of hard drugs have been arrested at their hideouts by men of the Delta State Police Command.
They were reported to be operating within Ogbomoro and Ugolo communities in Warri metropolis.
It was gathered that operatives of Area Command, Effurun, carried out a covert operation on May 7 around 9:30 p.m. which led to the arrest of the ladies whose names were given as Favour Isaac, aged 25 years, Favour Felix, aged 24 years and Precious Samson, aged 19 years.
During the operation, a search warrant was executed at their hideouts located along River Road, Ogbomoro community, where operatives recovered 21 bottles of CSC Codeine, two canisters containing Nitrous Oxide popularly known as “laughing gas”, two packs of suspected psychoactive chewing gum branded as “Highness Gum”, and 640 grammes of substances suspected to be Canadian Loud concealed in different bags and containers.
Preliminary investigation by the command revealed that one Rukewe Tega Isaac, who is currently at large, was the major supplier behind the drug network and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing man and other members of the syndicate.
The arrested ladies have given more useful information to the operatives and they have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation after which they will be charged to court.
