Three kidnappers who engaged policemen in gun duel after abducting a resident in Edo State have been arrested by men of the state police command.
The three kidnappers, whose names were given as Bright Junior, aged 25 years; Salisu Abubakar, aged 27 years and Prince James Momodu, aged 27 years, were arrested by the operatives attached to the Ehor Divisional Headquarters along with members of Edo State Security Corps (ESSC).
It was gathered that in the early hours of Sunday, May 17, the operatives rescued the kidnapped victim, who was abducted in Igueben, arrested the three kidnappers and killed another member of the gang during a gun duel in the Eguaholor forest axis of Uhunmwonde Local Government Area of the state.
The operation followed intelligence received regarding the abduction of the resident which made the operatives to mobilise to the hideout of the hoodlums and when the kidnappers sighted the operatives, they engaged them in a gun duel.
However, the superior firepower of the operatives forced the criminals into disarray, leading to the rescue of the man who had been taken to the hospital for medical attention.
At the point of their arrest, various items including one motorcycle, one cut-to-size gun, cash sum of N800,000 suspected to be ransom collected, three ATM cards, among others, were recovered from them.

They were said to have given more useful information to the police operatives and the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
