The mystery surrounding the disappearance of 26-year-old banker Osemudiamen Idemudia has ended in tragedy, as his body was discovered on May 19 at a morgue in Yaba, Lagos, ten days after he was declared missing.

Osemudiamen, who worked in the Point-of-Sale department of a commercial bank in Ikota, had left work on May 9 for a scheduled meeting at his bank’s headquarters in CMS, Lagos Island. When the meeting was abruptly cancelled, he parted ways with his colleague—and vanished.

Days of frantic searching by his family led to the shocking discovery: his corpse bore machete wounds to the head, face, and legs, indicating a violent death. Even more troubling, morgue staff said the body was brought in by unidentified police officers, offering no details about where or how he was found.

The Lagos Police have yet to issue an official statement, deepening the family’s frustration and raising fears over the safety of daily commuters, particularly in the CMS area where Osemudiamen was last seen.

Buried quietly on May 20, his death leaves behind a grieving family and a trail of unanswered questions. They are now calling for a full investigation to uncover the truth behind his brutal killing.

For the Idemudia family, a normal evening commute turned into a nightmare—and their call for justice continues.
