The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 40-year-old man, Sallau Inuwa, popularly known as ‘Liman Katagum’, for allegedly stabbing a colleague to death following a heated argument over money made from washing cars.

The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, October, 22, around 8:30 a.m. at a car wash outlet in Bauchi metropolis.

It was gathered that an argument ensued between him and another attendant, known simply as Ibrahim, aged 45 years, over money realised from each washed vehicle.

In the heat of the argument, the man allegedly picked a sharp knife and stabbed the victim in various parts of his body.

Despite all efforts to save him, Ibrahim was confirmed dead at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi.

Upon receiving the report of the incident, operatives of the ‘A’ Division immediately swung into action and got information that the man had fled to his paternal home in Liman Katagum area.

Consequently, the operatives went after him, and the DPO of Liman Katagum Division was alerted to arrest him on sight. The synergy later paid off, leading to his arrest at Mararraban Liman Katagum.

The man is currently in custody assisting the police with information regarding the incident and he is expected to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for more interrogation.

He is also expected to be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation into the incident.
