Two members of a cult group have been arrested by men of the Delta State Police Command after their gang celebrated the killing of a cultist belonging to a rival group.
It was gathered that on October 1, operatives of the Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) of the command acted on credible intelligence they got from a video that went viral of some cultists belonging to Aro Bagger Confraternity celebrating the murder of another cultist.
The operatives were said to have stormed a criminal hideout in Oghara and arrested the duo of Ezekiel Sunday Izomor, aged 23 years and Emmanuel Ogaganefe, also aged 23 years, in connection with the killing of the 25-year-old rival cultist, identifed as Godfrey at Jesse Main Market, Ethiope West Local Government Area.
Preliminary investigation after their arrest revealed that one of the fleeing members of the cult group, identifed as Collins, was vying to be the number one man in the confraternity and needed to kill a rival cult member for him to achieve his goal.
The said Collins reportedly connived with the two arrested men and one Richman, said to be a close friend to Godfrey.
According to the command in a statement on Sunday, October 4, at the point of their arrest, one battle axe, three cutlasses, one hammer and other items were recovered from them.
The command added that Richman and Collins are currently at large but efforts to arrest them are in top gear while the arrested cultists are in custody assisting with investigation.
