Two men who were said to have kidnapped their victims in Edo State and later killed them have been arrested at a community in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, by men of the state police command.
The two abductors, Gafaru Adamu, aged 25 and Muhammed Sanni, aged 20, were reported to have carried out kidnapping and murder in the Okada area of Edo State.
They were initially arrested at the Atiba area of Ijebu Ode by men of the Forest Guard on June 4 and handed over to the operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping unit of the police command.
However, preliminary findings revealed that the two men are wanted in connection with an ongoing investigation into a kidnapping and murder said to have been carried out by them in Okada.
Further intelligence gathered by the command indicated that they were members of a seven-man kidnapping syndicate linked to the incident under investigation.
Also in the course of the investigation, operatives recovered one pair of police camouflage uniform and three mobile phones from them and the exhibits have been taken into custody to aid further investigation.
The command said due to the fact that they carried out the abduction and murder in Edo State, they will be transferred to the state police command for further investigation and other necessary legal processes.
