A member of a cult group known as Vikings Confraternity who was found with a Beretta pistol and a military uniform during his arrest has told men of the Niger State Police Command that he bought the pistol for the sum of N350,000.
The cult member, whose name was given as Isaac Agada, aged 30 years and who claimed to be a photographer inside the Federal Polytechnic, Bida, was arrested around 2:00 a.m. by police operatives attached to ‘B’ Division in Bida while they were at a checkpoint.

It was gathered that the cultist was riding a motorcycle towards a temporary police checkpoint in Bida, but on sighting the operatives, he was said to have jumped down from the motorcycle and he took to his heels.
This raised the suspicion of the police officers who pursued him and succeeded in apprehending him.
During a search at the point of his arrest, he was found with the Beretta pistol while further search of his residence led to the recovery of a military camouflage cap, knicker and a jacket.
“During interrogation, he confessed to being a member of a cult group known as Vikings and he added that he bought the pistol from one Gideon a.k.a Starboy residing in Suleja for the sum of N350,000,” the command said in a statement on Tuesday, May 5.
The command added that he also claimed to be a photographer on campus and a friend gave him the camouflage.
The man has been taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation while efforts to apprehend Gideon and other accomplices are in progress.
