A woman has been arrested by men of the Imo State Police Command after they found out that she hid the weapons of her husband who was arrested for engaging in kidnapping activities.
She was found to have hidden the weapons when the officers of the command went to the couple’s apartment for a search after arresting the husband.
According to the command, the husband, Frank Onyemaechi, aged 26 years, was arrested and when his phone was searched, images of abducted persons, both dead and alive, were found in it.
He was said to have led the operatives to his apartment in Ama-Ansaa at Ngugu town in the Ikeduru Local Government Area of the state.
However, apparently sensing that the game of her husband was up, on sighting the operatives from afar, the wife, Chidimma Onyemaechi, aged 24 years, took the husband’s weapons and hid them at a place in the apartment.
However, during the search of the house, the eagle eyes of the operatives caught one of the weapons, a locally-made pistol and further search revealed the other weapons.
She was immediately arrested and taken away with her husband while the recovered weapons were taken as exhibits.
The couple were said to have given more useful information to the police operatives and they are expected to be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation into their nefarious activities.
