After bandits killed a husband at a community in Zamfara State, his wife who is down with a serious ailment has been sent away from the hospital where she is being treated over the inability of the family to pay for treatment.

The husband, whose name was given as Nura Yunus, was said to have been one of those killed when the bandits invaded Malam Ibrahim Mai-tafsiri area of Gusau, the state capital, last month.

However, his wife, Hauwa, said to be 20 years old, is currently fighting for her life after being discharged from a hospital in the city because her family could not afford continued treatment.

She is currently at home struggling between life and death as her stomach had become swollen and is making her to go through excruciating pains.

A source in the state capital told Impact Nigeria News Online on Saturday night that some family members are currently going cap in hand soliciting for funds to save her, as it was gathered that she also has a two-year-old child she is taking care of in her condition.

“In a conflict that has already taken her husband, poverty should not be allowed to take her life too. Every act of compassion could mean the difference between life and death,” the source said.

In another development, on Friday night, bandits attacked Tozon-kasa village in Kurya Madaro Ward, Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of state.

One resident, Abdulrashid Hakimi, was killed while five others were injured and are currently receiving treatment.

The Northern part of the country, especially the North-West, has been under the grips of bandits and terrorists who unleash mayhem on residents of various communities, killing some and abducting others.
