Popular Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele, on Friday, May 1, called out officials of Air Peace, saying all its passengers are currently stranded at Gatwick Airport in London.
Akindele, who is also one of the passengers of the Lagos-bound flight, said the passengers, including elderly persons, were stranded since 6:30 a.m. on Friday “with no proper communication.”
According to her, passengers are still sitting without any hope of travelling, hungry, exhausted, and without their bags.
She added that elderly passengers are struggling, families are tired and no clear updates from the airline officials.
She disclosed that as at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, almost 10 hours of waiting at the airport, there was no proper communication while the passengers luggage had not been released to them.
She wrote: “Air Peace, this is unacceptable. Passengers (including elderly people) have been stranded since 6:30 a.m. at London Gatwick Airport with no proper communication.
“After hours of delay, we were told there was a bird strike and promised a hotel. Hours later, people are still sitting without hope, hungry, exhausted, and without their bags.
“Elderly passengers are struggling. Families are tired. No clear updates. No support.
“Release passengers’ luggage immediately and provide the hotel you promised. Do something now.
“It’s almost 4:00 p.m., no bags, no hotel, no proper updates. Passengers are stranded. People are tired and hungry.
“Release the luggage and take care of your passengers now.”
