‎How police rescued husband, wife, 6-month-old daughter after gunmen invaded their home, abducted them in Kwara community

The men of the Kwara State Police Command have rescued a man, his wife as well as their six-month-old daughter after some gunmen invaded their home at a community in the state, abducted them and two others.

The state police command announced the development in a statement on Wednesday morning, saying the two abducted victims are currently with the gunmen and efforts are being intensified to rescue them.

The incident was said to have occurred at Igbonla community, Irepodun Local Government Area, on November 2, when the armed men gained access to a residential building by shooting sporadically and succeeded in abducting the five persons.

However, following a distress call received by the command, a combined team of the police detectives, local vigilantes and hunters were mobilised to the location.

‎‎The swift action led to the rescue of the husband, Kudus Wasiu; wife, Fatima Wasiu and their six-month-old daughter, while the two remaining victims, Salihu Wasiu and Abdullahi Sefiu, are still with the abductors.

‎The command added that the rescued victims have been reunited with their family members while its operatives and local security men are combing various forests in order to rescue other victims.
