An internet fraudster is currently in custody of the Delta State Police Command after he went to the house of another scammer and killed him during a disagreement over $1,000 they made through a fraudulent deal.
The Public Relations Officer of the state police command, Bright Edafe, announced the development in a video he posted where he interviewed the internet fraudster, popularly known as Yahoo Boy.
According to Edafe, the fraudster, who gave his name simply as Ogheneghare, aged 28 years, was a friend of the deceased, whose name was given as Courage and the two of them defrauded a foreigner on the internet and they made $1,000 from the fraudulent act.
After the friend succeeded in collecting the $1,000, Ogheneghare said he “logged him out of work,” which means he refused to give him out of the money.
This made Ogheneghare, who said he belongs to the Black Axe Confraternity, also known as Aye, to become angry, and decided to deal with him in his own way.
He told Edafe that he went to Courage’s house and met him outside. He confronted him and a fight ensued during which he said he used what he called “a small sharp shovel” he carried along with him to attack Courage during the fight.
He said: “When I went to his house, I saw him sitting outside and confronted him about the money. Then we started to fight. At that point, I used the edge of the small sharp shovel in my hand to cut him twice in the head. When I cut him the second time, blood started gushing out and he fell down.
“I didn’t know that hitting him on the head would lead to such a terrible thing because we fought in the night. He belonged to the Aro Bagger cult group but that didn’t disturb our friendship.”
He is currently giving more useful information to the police about the incident and he is expected to be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation.
