The Lagos State Government has announced that five major road projects in Alimosho Local Government Area are on track for completion by the last quarter of 2025.

This ambitious infrastructure drive includes the rehabilitation of the Ijegun-Ijagemo Road and the construction of the Ile Eja road network, which comprises Ile Eja, Olaiya, Ajibola Hassan-Alhaji Mustapha, Olu Adeyanju with a bridge, and Rabiatu Ogedengbe. The Akesan-Igando Road is also part of the development plan.

During an inspection tour of the sites on Tuesday, Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure, Olufemi Daramola, expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work. He said the projects are aligned with Lagos State’s long-term connectivity and transport master plan aimed at reducing travel time, easing traffic congestion, and enhancing the quality of life for residents.

According to a government statement released on Wednesday, the roads are being developed alongside essential infrastructure, including drainage systems, pedestrian walkways, and street lighting, to ensure lasting value and safety.

At the Ijegun-Ijagemo site, Alex Tang-Li, Managing Director of the construction firm handling the 5km dual carriageway, assured that the road would be delivered with modern features and completed by November this year.

The projects are expected to significantly improve mobility within Alimosho, one of Lagos’s most densely populated areas, and boost economic activity by enhancing access for businesses and residents alike.
