A man who attended the physical and credentials exercise as an applicant of the Nigeria Police Force was abducted by gunmen while he was returning home in Plateau State.
The state police command announced the development in a statement on Saturday, March 28, as it added that the incident occurred on Thursday around 3:00 p.m.
It was gathered that the applicant was kidnapped while on his way back to his house in Qua’anpan Local Government Area of the state by the gunmen who robbed him of his Samsung Galaxy phone, power bank and the sum of N25,000.
They eventually took him to a jungle in Gada Biu where they kept him for some time before he was later released.
After receiving the report, police officers attached to the command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit swing into action and arrest two of the abductors.
The command gave the names of those arrested at their hideout at Gada Biu as Prince Bernard Bassey, aged 25 years and Sunday Laraba, aged 28 years, adding that they were arrested with hard drugs, weapons, sharp objects and various SIM cards.
They were said to have given more useful information to the police operatives while the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for more investigation after which they are expected to be charged to court.
