The Public Relations Officer of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, on Thursday, September 3, spoke about what female police officers usually go through in the course of the job.
She spoke on the matter in a post on her X handle, saying being a police woman is not always as glamorous as the pictures make it look.
According to her, behind the uniform put on by a female police officer are long days, difficult moments, sacrifices, responsibilities, and sometimes having to be strong even when she is tired.
“You learn to balance duty, family, emotions and expectations, while still showing up and doing your job,” she said.
She added that the uniform teaches an average female police officer that strength is not about never getting tired or overwhelmed; it is about finding the courage to keep going, even on the days when it is hard.
“So, whenever you see a police woman in uniform, remember there is a woman behind that uniform, one who works, sacrifices, serves and faces her own battles too. Respect the uniform, appreciate the woman wearing it,” she stated.
Adeh is one of the few female police public relations officers at various commands across the country. The PPROs of Lagos, Edo, Rivers, Benue, Kwara commands are the others.
