The 24 students of Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga, Kebbi State, who were rescued on Tuesday were on Wednesday, November 26, reunited with their parents after medical examinations.
During the handing over ceremony at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi, the state governor, Nasir Idris, thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for taking prompt measures in ensuring the safe release of the kidnapped students.
Governor Nasir also appreciated the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and other security agencies for their commitment, during their days in captivity.
While speaking on behalf of the parents of the students, Ibrahim Haruna Maga appreciated the president, the governor, traditional and religious leaders and others for their prayers, efforts and being with them during their trying time.
After the completion of the necessary formalities, the students were handed to their respective parents
